MUJER-Erasmo Carlos-Happy Women’s Day!

March 8, 2018 By las Leave a Comment

MUJER-Erasmo Carlos

¡Feliz Día de la Mujer! – Happy Women’s Day!

MUJER - WOMEN'S DAY
MUJER – LASPANISH.COM

MUJER-Erasmo Carlos, is a song composed by Brazilian singer-composer Erasmo Carlos and its original version is in Portuguese. It can be found in his youtube channel “erasmocarlosbr”. Some of his most popular songs were translated to Spanish and sang by Brazilian singer-composer Roberto Carlos. This song was popular around the late 70’s.

In MUJER-Erasmo Carlos, he wants to honor all women. In the story, himself finds him out that women are mistakenly considered fragile or weak. He presents a man’s testimony of his experience with the woman he shares his life with, which makes him reach his conclusion. He expresses his admiration for her strength and wisdom as a mother, as a wife, and as a real woman.

MUJER-Erasmo Carlos WOMAN By Erasmo Carlos
Dicen que la mujer They say that women
es sexo frágil belong to a weak gender
que mentira tan absurda what an absurd lie
yo que hago parte de la rutina de una ellas I am part of the routine of one of them
sé que la fuerza esta con ellas. and I know the strength is with all of them.
Como es fuerte la que yo conozco The one I know is strong
su sabiduría no tiene precio, and her wisdom is priceless,
satisface mi ego fingiéndose sumisa she satisfies my ego by pretending to be compliant
pero en el fondo me hechiza. but indeed she charms me.
Cuando llego a casa por las noches When I got home at night
quiero una mujer muy mía I want to enjoy my woman’s company
pero yo ya no tengo derecho but she is not only mine anymore
porque un hijo quiere el pecho because while the baby boy wants to be breastfed
el otro por su mano ya reclama the other boy tries to reach her with his hands,
y el otro quiere cuentos en la cama. and the other one wants bedtime stories form her.
Cuatro hombres dependientes y carentes de tu fuerza mujer We are four men dependent and so in need of your strength, dear.
CORO CHOIR
Mujer, mujer del barro del cual fuiste tu creada Woman, woman, from the mud you were made of
bebí mi inspiración para exaltarte a ti esta canción I got the inspiration to honor you with this song
mujer, mujer, en la escuela en que tu fuiste enseñada Woman, woman, in the school that we were taught,
jamas saqué un diez, soy fuerte pero no llego a tus pies. I never failed! -I am strong! -But I can’t ever be compared with you.
